A fabulous lens. As Joel said, it is heavy but handles and balances
surprisingly well so that the weight is not terribly noticeable.

This lens is one of the gems among Zuikos IMO.

I did a little test a while ago between the 35-80/2.8 and a 90/2 macro.

The test subject was a landscape scene stretching of to the horizon. I
used an OM4-Ti with the self timer for each shot and used Fuji Provia
100F. I was testing the 35-80 at 80mm and repositioned the tripod between
shots to compensate for the slight difference in focal lengths. I think
both test shots were at f5.6

I rather foolishly forgot to record which frame was taken with which lens
so when the slides came back I found I had some difficulty working out
which image was taken with which lens. I actually could not tell the
slides apart from the quality of the images using a reversed 50/1.4 as a
loupe. It dawned on me that in one image I could see past a slight
undulation in the ground because the tripod was slightly further forward
and so I was able to deduce that the image was taken with the 35-80.

I used a 30x Peak loupe and studied the image of a house several
kilometres away. It was apparent that there was very slightly
better defined detail in the windows of the house in the image taken with
the 90/2. The size of the windows in the images was very small. The
difference in image quality between these two lenses at his aperture would
seem to be negligible.
