Kirk's in Ringwood - right? Or did the guys at Camera exchange have one?
It's a 0.95mm ...............
Hi folks,
I had one of these ages ago with a Leica screwmount, though
supposedly,
they were not available in that mount, mine might have been a custom
job. The
thing covered 3/4s of the viewfinder, though the rangefinder worked ok.
At the time, it was marketed as the speed demon to end all
speedsters. None
of the images I got wide open with it were any good to print (b&w), but
I didn't
use it much as I didn't have the aux 50mm finder you need with this lens
to compose
or even see anything on the small Leica.
I seem to remember first seeing the Canon 50mm 0.95 in early
'60s....
Seriously, f/1.0, that's a full stop. Next wide is f/0.7 (nobody
has it). Just
how much more LIGHT is O.95 than 1.0? Isn't f/0.9, a third of a stop
below
f/1.0. So, f/0.95, that's only a six of stop less than f/1.0........
Cheers,
Rich Lahrson
