Tamron make or have made a number of teleconverter styles. There is a
standard type in a range of mounts - looks pretty much like anyone else's 7
element unit. I bought one but returned it when I found the rear element
was scuffed in the centre very lightly so I can't comment. Can't remember
the 'designation' but it was MC.
Then they made the matched SP converters to go with their own lenses - they
fit directly to the back of a Tamron lens and the Adaptall mount goes on
the convertor, so they will not fit any other lens. I have one with a SP
300/5.6 macro and it is quite high quality. Even gives you a 'doubled'
depth of field window.
The latest are the auto-focus types - the F series (I have an EOS one which
is fine) and the N series which are professional white types. B&H stock
both.
