I think so. A used OM or new OM-2000 will hardly break the bank, and
will certainly introduce the newbie to basic photographic concepts
while giving excellent results. At worst, they'll discover they
prefer autofocus or wonderbricks, and they'll move on. There could be
worse things than having a good manual 35mm as a backup, and this
list is proof that a used OM can sell if they opt to dump the system
after a few months.
