Crikey, Tom, you just took the words right out of my mouth! I just bought 12
NimH AA's from TD last week. At $2.45 per shipped, I can't see buying
throw-away alkalines. But then, I also use rechargeable 9v NiCads in all my
smoke detectors, burglar alarm sensors, etc:

I charge the NimH AAs in my Olympus Digital Vision chargers (Olymus content),
and use them in my battery-eating Coolpix 800 (N*k*n content), with which I
shoot product PICS (eBay content). I went for the 1450 mAH YUASA:

They're not as bad as you think. Check out:

Most specifically, check out:

If you go for the 1500s, you can get twelve for ~$27. They pay for
themselves pretty quickly. The cheapest alkalines I can buy are 12 Rayovac
from the WalMart for about $7.

Four sets and you've paid for the batteries (of course, there's the charger
too). I recommend the Maha MH-204F. Here's a link:

although a better deal is one of the packages with 4 batteries. If you
order online, you also get a free car adapter, which is nice.

I have a bunch of these batteries and one of the chargers. I run everything
in the house on rechargeables (with two daughters, we use a lot of AA and
AAA batteries).

No connection, just a happy customer.

Tom
