I think Shaw recommended this because "normal" (non-Zuiko) macro lenses in
the more-than-1:1-magnification-range don't have auto aperutres. That new
C*non does. Somewhere he states that those special made macros for this
range (20/2 and 38/2.8 Zuikos, and some N*kons, C*anons and L**cas) are
optically better but just not very usefull in the field. Guess he never used
our Zuikos!

This setup should beat non-macro lenses combined with extension tubes or
normal close-up lenses and is by far the cheapes way to do
high-magnification macro. Shaw warns that some combinations have better
results than other. I tried the 50/1.4 on a 135/2.8. Looked OK but I never
really comared it to some real macro lenses.
