Why is the camera store owner so eager to trade even with you?
As others have pointed out, there's much to be said for both a known
quanity and for the durability of chrome. In several years of hard use, the
chrome will undoubtedly be worth more resale value than a black body with
the inevitable dings, paint scratches etc.
