I resent that !  I spent a year on that high (>5000 ft) desert helping
to deplete that uranium.  If you like outdoor sports (hunting, fishing,
skiing etc) you're real close to heaven.  Definitely heaven if you're a
photographer (I was, but pre-Oly 1965)).  Where I lived (Idaho Falls)
sat at the foot of the Sawtooth Range and the edge of the desert and
right near the lava flats (towards Blackfoot).  Social life was a bit
slow, a Mormon town in the middle of nowhere, but the other stuff mare
than made up for it.  The only place with better odds on getting nice
trout for dinner is your local fishmonger.

P.S.  Oh yes, the combination hunting, fishing, trapping license for a
year was $6.35 and in many places trout season was 12 months long and
the limit was 25 fish a day.
