Wayne, my mom's iS-2 came with a strap similar to what you've described - a
woven synthetic material almost as soft as cotton, lined with a suede-like
material on the inside of the strap where it would bear against the neck or
shoulder, and with the word OLYMPUS sewn on in white letters on the outside.
Perhaps it was originally intended for the iS-series. The attachment lugs
peculiar to the iS-series can easily be replaced with conventional strap
buckles.
