Hi,
Well, you know there is a lot of red rock in Utah. Our company name isn't
connected directly with any of it, but recent trips to red rock country have
included Zion NP, Canyonlands NP, Arches NP, Capital Reef NP, Escalante
National Monument. That's all pretty far (250 - 300 mi) south of us. But
Salt Lake City is nestled up against the Wasatch Mountains, with peaks of
12,000 feet just a few miles from the valley (4900 ft) floor. There are
designated wilderness areas only 5 miles from my house, even though I just
live in a normal suburban subdivision. Its the most beautiful place I've
ever lived.
So (requisite OM content), I'm trying to become a landscape photographer
(Not as easy as taking pictures of bugs). The way I stumbled onto this list
was in looking for an OM-2Sp for my wife, who has been threatening to get
serious about making photographs since I met her.
I bought my first OM (an OM-2) when I was a sophomore in college (1976??
yeesh!). Its at Photosphere now, being CLA'd (I hope). I bought a 4T about 9
years ago before spending a year in Europe. Since then, I've not done as
much photography (2 kids and a startup company have unfortunately slowed me
down). But the kids are getting bigger, and I have time for a hobby again,
so there we go. Listening to you all, and looking at some of your work, as
posted in the web, has / is pretty inspiring.
