Hi,
The fact that there's no OM version of the 34 AF-3 doesn't really bother
me, but the fact that the new SCA 3002 system is not compatible with OM,
does. We will never be able to use the FP (HSS) flash features of the new
54 MZ-3 on our OM-4Ti's; we're stuck forever to the F280. I mailed them and
they have no intentions to develop this adapter.
At the risk of saying something that perhaps is stupid: wouldn't it be
possible for a technically skilled person to reverse engineer the SCA 321
adapter (i.e. the one that's used with "normal" Metz flashes to match them
to the 4Ti), as well as the adapter(s) used with this new FP flash for
different camera brands, to see if it is possible to adapt an SCA 321
adapter so the 4Ti can use this new flash too?
I have to say that I have no idea about what exactly resides in these
adapters. Is it just cabling, or is there also a lot of electronics in
there?
Perhaps a nice weekend project for an electrical engineer...?!?
