In the last few years I've returned two scanners to their suppliers because
I couldn't get them to work with their supplied cards and had to do battle
to get the money back. Then I fitted a Zip Zoom card into the computer and
couldn't get that to be recognised either, but after taking the cover off
again, I happened to notice that although it seemed tight in its slot, the
card was slightly sloping. I removed the holding screw and pushed the card
down *really hard* before it clicked again - and it worked. I feel sure that
at least one of the scanners I sent back was because the card wasn't fully
seated. As with fitting RAM chips, it takes far more violence than I'd
expect against such small fragile-looking parts.
Just a thought.
