This is nasty, but give the seller the benefit of the doubt - I've seen old
screens in new boxes before where someone replacing the screen has simply
stored the old one in the new box. The seller probably didn't know the
difference. People also do evil things to sellers too - I went through a
'specials' bin recently - mostly filters and adaptors - and discovered that
most of the expensive filter boxes had cheap filters in them. People
rummaging through had switched very pricey B+W large size filters into the
cheap boxes and the 'new management' store staff simply rang up the price
on the box. Even at 'half price' they must have lost a thousand dollars
worth of stock.
As to international trading (US-Canada international?) - I've done about 20
eBay international deals and never had a problem. In a similar situation -
an misunderstanding where the seller unintentionally misrepresented a small
item as something slightly and importantly different - we agreed that he
refund half the cost and I resold it. Worked for us, although, I suppose, a
1-13 is less resellable!
