Yes. If you look at the front of the SP, there is a small window next to
the viewfinder. This window has a diaphragm inside which opens/closes as
the film speed dial is changed. The meter cell is behind this daiphragm, so
you need to cover the window to reduce the battery drain, e.g. use a
neverready case.
