I've never felt happy about attaching cameras or lenses to a vibrating part of a motorcycle ever since opening up a bag strapped to the rear carrier and finding that the vibration had unscrewed a tyre pressure gauge into all of its component parts. I bought a very padded Marsand Pad-a-Pac bag and limited my outfit to whatever I could get in there, which wasn't much, to ride with across my shoulders. I did use to carry a 5 x 4" bungee-corded to the seat behind me though in the days when dual seats were long enough for two.
