It is certainly worth trying a variety of riding positions
to see what suits your back.

Definitely. Proper fit/positioning is crucial. Furthermore, you should be lifting weights to correct the imbalances and for overall health (this applies to everyone).

    And recumbents are great for those with back troubles.

Geek bikes, er I mean recumbents, should be a last resort. (please direct flames to email where they will be ignored)


To keep this partially relevant, I sometimes velcro a plastic folding tripod to the stem of my road bike and then attach a Yashica T4 Super--thus I'm riding my camera. This P&S has the huge advantage of a built-in right-angle finder which allows you to frame while cycling along. You have to trigger with one hand though (no remote) so great caution is advised. I've have some nice shots riding with friends going up hills and in packs on the flats (sorry, none posted yet) but prefer both hands on the bars going down hills at 30-50 mph.

Anyone else going to follow le Tour de Lance?
