[OM] ISO speeds. Was What to reccomend: beginners camera?

Films used to be separately marked in ASA and DIN speeds but now they're
marked 'ISO (ASA rating) / (DIN rating)'. I wonder how long it took some
committee to come up with that bit of progress? Can there be more to it than
that?
