A few more thoughts on a starter camera.
You mentioned the flash systems.
The OM2 has TTL with T series flashes.
It does not however have a connector built in to the body.
You (he) will need a auto T connector for the OM2, along
with the needed cords.
The T-20 does not have a facility for off camera connection
so you need a T-20 auto connector shoe. (rare?).
A duo synch cord would do the job of both accessories plus the cords.
(rarer).
A T-32 is a little expensive for a kid and kind of heavy for a on camera
unit.
They both (T20 and T32) have low profiles and are better used on a bracket.

The OM 1 can use a third party flash with a pc connector. (rather
inexpensive).
Either camera if in good condition and a recent CLA will out last a OM2000.
Good lenses are available for all and some are not very costly.
The OM1 and 2 are system cameras so expansion (Zuikoholicism) is easy.

My recommendation is a OM1md with a 50mm 1.8 lens and a Vivitar 283 flash.
A zoom or wide and long lenses can come later.
*Inexpensive, sturdy and professional with all the controls in tack.

Charlie Loeven
