Anyone who sets up a competition, asking entrants to relinquish copyright on
their images is IMHO up to no good. Avoid it like the plague. In fact, it
would be best to send an email or letter saying *why* you chose not to enter
the Oly competition, and that it is unethical.
Most competition organisers will expect to use winning entries to publicise
the competition, but that is only fair. Steer clear of anything more.
Editorial photographers in the UK and abroad are regularly coming up against
new demands from magazines etc asking them to relinquish copyright (inc
digital media) for no extra cash. It's not right.
