man, I just threw out several pieces of the material. I could have
given it to you. The frames got tossed a long time ago. You can make
this stuff yourself, at least that's what I did. I bought clips that
hold the panels together, and a couple of the fabrics that stretch over
the frames from Calumet. You just go to the hardware store and get a
bunch of PVC pipe and elbows and make some frames. If you clip two
frames together, they will stand up by themselves. I had a couple of
white panels, a gold one and a silver one that we made way back when.

You don't mount the flash to these things, but you use them in the
studio to control reflected light. The flash is mounted on a stand as
usual and can fire through the fabric or bounce off of it. Or, you can
use an umbrella to bounce the flash and the panels for side light
control. this is where you absolutely must have a flash meter and/or a
polaroid camera. otherwise, you have no idea what your ratios are and
whether you're over or under exposed.

you can use the panels with natural light also of course, as in a
window portrait where the contrast is too high. the panel reflects the
window light to reduce contrast.

you can further create negative reflectors by taking black velvet and
stretching it over the frame.

there are many possibilities with this simple technique.

Be seeing you.
