[OM] Selling to this List / an idea about Ebay auction posts

Subject: [OM] Selling to this List / an idea about Ebay auction posts

Hi All,
I must agree with George and some others on this issue.
If a list member wants to sell something to this list then they should:
A) List the items.
B) Give a description of the condition.
C) LIST A SALES PRICE!!!!

This B.S. of "Make me an offer", "How much will you pay" or "email me and if
you are a list member I'll cut you a sweetheart deal", is nothing more than
an informal Auction.
The seller is trying to work the price up by using the list members as the
audience.

If you want to sell to this list, fine. But, state your price!

I am sure many on this list will remember the "WARS" Lee Hawkins had with
"olympus guy - paul" when paul was trying to use this forum as a marketing
arm for his personal gain.
If Lee were still on the list, I have a pretty good guess what he would have
to say.
'This List is for the education of Olympus products and Photography. NOT
for making Money!'

I just got tired of the way he was posting "Subject: For Sale" then the body
gives a ptr to an auction.
And we did have a large concensus against this very thing in the recent
past.
