You would be amazed at the nature opportunities on the plains areas. 
Wild flowers, wild life and scenics year round, and during the migrations
season, its incredible what comes through here!  There are a number of
wetlands reserves in the Kansas/Nebraska flyway that attract hundreds of
thousands of migratory water fowl each season, as do the surrounding
acres of  harvested  but not yet plowed under wheat, corn and milo
fields.  Also, eagles winter in area because the rivers and large lakes
seldom freeze completely over, always a little open water for fishing!
