"Carpe Photons..." Doris?? Is this a play on "Carpe Diem" - seize the
moment (day)? This place *is* becoming erudite ;-)

Mind you, it has to with people still misspelling it's and its. 8-)

But I agree with you: perhaps it should be "Seize the photographic moment",
or even "seize the Decisive Moment". IOW don't hang around talking about
it, find a moment and freeze it with the advantages we have of little OM
bodies and faithful lenses.

I have to say, though, that I am tempted to consider trying to save for a
MF or LF Ebony or Horseman or Linhof or whatever they're called. I rather
fancy rising fronts or swinging sides ??? ;-) If only I could have
confidence in my ability to choose a suitable subject.

BTW, the other day, my 14 yr-old son asked me to take another airborne
photo so that he could use it as his desktop on his PowerBook (bought
secondhand as an educational aid). So I loaded a fresh HDC200 and took it
airborne last week with the 21/3.5. It is on the same roll as the ADITL so
I let anyone who's interested know how it went. Unfortunately, though, the
weather was cloudy so the background will be missing that typical blue cast
that you get that high (FL200 - 20,000 ft)... all right, all right, I know:
that is medium level for a real jet like an F-15, 14, 16, 18, Su-27, 30,
31, MiG 23, 27, 29 etc... but it's the best that a fully fuelled Tornado
GR1 can do straight after take-off!

I always put the little OM1N in its ERC and stow it by the ejection seat,
hoping that it will not fall behind the seat. The plastic fabric of the
ERC seems to stop the camera sliding around quite effectively because I
moved the aircraft around a fair bit on that sortie.
