Not entirely - all OMs fitted with battery dependant self timers rather than
mechanical one have the mirror and aperture 'prefire' function - OM-10,
20(F), 30(G) and 40(PC). With the latter, at least, you don't have to wait
for the full ten seconds to make the exposure as the shutter will open as
soon as you switch off the self timer. It means handling the camera to do it
of course, but if you follow Olympus's advice for tripod use with medium
telephotos, you'll be holding the camera and lens down anyway.
