Well, not ruined slides, just lost slides. I mailed a roll of Kodachrome 64 to
Dallas on May 25, and it's still not back. I called the phone number on the
tag, and was told to call another number. When I talked to the people at the
second number, I found out that Dallas is no longer processing Kodachrome
mailers. All mailers sent to Dallas, and anywhere else are shipped to
Fairlawn, N.J. for processing. Evidently they have a postal order to forward
everything from the Dallas post office box to New Jersey. I don't know what
they do for local drop off processing. (My local grocery store sends film to
Qualex, basically the same place the mailers went to).

Not that they do prints much better. I dropped off 4 rolls of print film for
"Kodak Premium Processing" through that grocery store, and all 4 rolls came
back with scratches on the negs.

I eventually had to file a form 1510 with the post office to try to track that
roll of slide film down. Haven't heard from it yet. I did mail 9 more rolls of
Kodachrome from my El Salvador trip directly to Fairlawn (the newest mailers
only have one address on them), and they came back in about 2 weeks.

Someday, my prints will come- *unscratched* thank you very much
