I think an extended stay in a warm oven - 30 - 40c - would be the first 
approach 
with periodic moving of aperture, focus and shifting mechanisms to improve the 
chance that water in any gaps is exposed to warm air.

If that does not do the trick then the attention of someone like John Hermanson 
might be required.

You are lucky it wasn't salt water.
