I'm sure you've considered this, but I'd like to put in a plug for the
OM-1(n). It too is quite robustly built, completely mechanical and needs a
battery for metering only...the only caveat is the Hg cell it requires.
There are solutions to that in the FAQ (sorry, don't have the URL handy).
It should be found used, being no longer made. A good sample should set
you back about 1/10th the cost of the OM3-(Ti). In fact, you can buy the 3
and still get a 1 for backup (to backup your 3 which is backing up your
4--hey, you can't be too safe<G>) or have different film/lens combos.
Being light and small, it shouldn't be too much trouble. Either way, Best,
