I posed this question quite a while back.  John H answered 'no way'.  I
suspect the reason is that it is digitally controlled by code feeding
the On Board Computer (OBC) as we used to say at NASA.  This is
certainly at the least impractical and more probably impossibe for end
user to change.  Had it been (or if it is) analog, there might be a
resistor or capacitor that could be swapped.  Even then, however, the
discrete elements would probably be in some sort of packs that would
make this option undoable as well.  Course, you could take the top off
and cut some wires and insert your own circuit!  Me, I think I must live
with the 12 seconds.
