Sounds like a diode in a surface mount. Sometimes they come with two
diodes in a package, with a common cathode, common anode, etc. If you
have an ohm meter, you can check the diode polarity. The meter will
show much higher resistance with the leads connected in one direction
than when you reverse them. If you don't have a meter, then some
resistance, batery and small light bulb can also be used (such as a
single cell flashlight). The diode anode will conduct when it is
connected to the positive side (and cathode toward negative).
