As a few of you may have realized, Zuikoholism has, in my case, apparently
led
to a form of mania. To wit: I have an extensive list of the specific
markings
on the front of Zuiko lenses, which as you know, usually includes serial
number.
This started based on Paul Sching's compilation of our lens data and has
gotten
expanded in hopes that one could recognize older/newer lenses without
knowing
the serial number. Looking over this list idly an oddity has appeared.

our discussions a few months back it was fairly firmly established that
serial
numbers start at 100,000 and go up. However I have never seen either a
50/1.4
or a 35~70/3.6 with a serial number below 200,000. In particular the lowest
serial numbers I've ever seen for these lenses (neither mine by the way) are
below:
OLYMPUS OM-SYSTEM G.ZUIKO AUTO-S 1:1,4 f=50mm 219492
OLYMPUS OM-SYSTEM ZUIKO MC AUTO-ZOOM 1:3,6 f=35~70mm 214132 Japan
anybody seen lower serial numbers?
