I have a continuous tone dye-sub print done on an ALPS and the result is
way better than any ink jet I have ever seen. It is even better than
results off a HP colour laser printer I did which produced very noticeable
banding. The speckled appearance you refer to is completely absent from
the ALPS dye sub print I have.
