Looks like Matthias tried to combine here two earlier non-OM Olympus
SLR's: the Pen F/FT and the Olympus FTL. :-) Both use Zuiko lenses,
the former with a dedicated bayonet mount, whereas the latter uses a
modified Universal (M42) mount.

In addition, there was a large number of 35mm viewfinder/rangefinder
Olympus cameras, some with interchangeable lenses (e.g. Ace and Ace-E),
as well as a slew of TLR's and medium format cameras, both by Olympus
and by others (e.g. Airesflex TLR), all of which utilized Zuiko lenses.

I guess one could use Zuikos throughout his/her life w/o ever touching
an OM body, though I cannot imagine why would anyone deprive him/herself
the pleasures of the latter. :-)

Cheers,
