Thought the list might like to know that there are a couple of video tapes
available which feature Dan Norris ( he and his OM-4Ti shared the credit
for the inside back cover of Nov Outdoor Photog as recently posted to the
list). Both videos are very good.

One is "Night Photography", and the other is "High Desert Images". I
purchased both from a US company called Black Rabbit who also sell the
complete range of John Shaw video workshops. Tapes are avail in either NTSC
or PAL (for us Aussies!).

In the two videos, Dan Norris explains how he uses spot metering in the
OM-4 to do exposures of rock formations, night skies etc in and around the
canyon country of Utah. The fabled Zuiko 350mm F2.8 even makes a (brief)
appearance!

There is not a *lot* of emphasis on gear, mainly how to get there, what to
see, tips for composition, lighting control, avoiding the crowds, where to
get info, safety tips, choosing lenses for perspective effects, framing,
metering, looking after the parks etc. He gives formulas to use with
different lenses to produce great star trail photos which also incorporate
landscape elements in the same exposure, and for double exposures with the
moon. The videos themselves are *really* well shot and brought back great
memories of our trip to this beautiful part of the world a couple of years
back. Both are Black Rabbit productions.

Black Rabbit also have the Art Wolfe "On Location" video, the Galen
Rowell/Frans Lanting twin video set, and an excellent video on
photographing Slot Canyons which they also produced (alas no Olympus gear
in sight!).

I find these videos to be a great way to recharge the creative batteries
and get the enthusiasm fired up. If you want to check out Black Rabbit,
they have a pretty cool web site at http://www.blackrabbit.com/Welcome.html

and they are really nice people too!
