|The Vivitar fulfills my needs for a fast standard zoom at the moment,
|although I would greatly prefer a true zoom a la Zuiko 35-80/2.8.
|Another advantage of the Zuiko is the fact that it takes 62mm filters,

| You mean that you like the Viv 35-85 because it is a fast lens.
| Do you always take picture at full aperature F2.8 and never at F5.6,
| etc...?

Yes, I like it because it is fast. I wear corrective eyewear (glasses
or contacts), and my vision is severely strained in low light
situations, making it difficult to focus. It is irrelevant whether I
shoot at f/2.8, f/5.6, or whatever; the auto diaphragm of a fast lens
guarantees comfortable focusing. Besides, I love dramatic, low light
photography which is just another reason for my fast lens fetish.
