The "T" setting stands for Time.  Just as in the "B" (Bulb) setting the
shutter stays open as long as the release remains depressed, in the "T"
(Time) setting the shutter opens when you press the release the first
time and remains open until you press the release again.  Similar to a
cable release with lock.
