has the f/ setting on the lens an influence on the program itself?

Welcome to the list:
With the camera on program, the OM-2S will, at ISO 100 with aperture at f. 2,
set the following, shutter speed and aperture as the amount of light
increases:
1/4 f2, 1/8, f2, 1/15 f2, 1/30 f2, 1/60 f2, 1/125 f2.8, 1/250 f4, 1/500 f5.6,
1/1000 f8 and as the light increases beyond this the aperture will continue to
stop down.
Set the camera at minimum aperture to allow the camera use of all f stops. If
you don't set the camera at minimum aperture, the camera will try to adjust
using the shuter speed. If there is too much light, the overexposure symbol
and the lens aperture signal will blink. If the lens is at minimum aperture
and the overexposure will occur even at the fastest shutter speed, the
blinking "over" symbol will appear but the diaphragm symbol does not appear.
You take your shot at your own risk.

Good luck.
