Hi all, thanks for all the advice. Went to a camera store, the old guy
there took the bottom plate off the camera and did something that
unstuck the advance lever and freed the mirror. He then told me to get
rid of the alkaline batteries and buy some silver oxides, which I did on
the spot. What a relief! Better go shoot some film tomorrow. John.
