The Brits resisted throw away technology much longer than us Yanks. In the
olden days (20-30 years back or less sometimes) There was good news about
British stuff, it was built to be repaired, could be disassembled,
repaired, and reassembled for decades (hand held bildge pumps, Seagull
outboard motors, MG sports cars, electronic instruments, etc. With some of
it the bad news was that it frequently needed the easy repairs and
available spare parts. Oly content: Many of these easily repaired objects
are challenging photo subjects best handled with the superior technology
and human machine interface of Oly equipment.
