Yes, Greg makes a good point. A conventional cable release allows you to
use the winder only for winding and to release the shutter as a separate
operation.

On the tripod and in tight macro situations, I often use a conventional
cable release and just use the winder for winding. E.g., OM-1, exposure
set, mirror locked up, wind, shoot with cable release, change aperture (for
brackets), wind, shoot with cable release ... etc.

This way your last shot always leaves the camera "unwound" too.
