Hmm,

I'd be worried about this.

My OM4 had this failure mode when it went belly up a couple
of years ago. All auto OTF exposures (ie: non-spot) were
overexposed by anything from half a stop or so at high speeds
through to more than a stop at slower speeds. For exposures
longer than a couple of seconds, the camera would 'lock up'
(terminal over exposure).

  This happened after I had the camera in some high humidity;
the self timer also packed it in with fast chirping rather than
slow beeping.

I think that some moisture got into the gubbins of
the camera and created a leakage path on the circuit board
somewhere. I assume that the OTF system uses some
sort of integrating circuit, and that for low light
exposures the leakage became significant compared with the
charging provided by the metering cell. At some point,
they equal each other and the metering circuit measures zero light.

The fix, unfortunately, was a complete circuit replacement.
Has your OM4 been exposed to high humidity or moisture?
It may be worth trying to dry it out in a warm oven (< 40C or so)
for a couple of days (or a box of nitrogen if you've got access to that)
