Hi Winsor,
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I'd like to set the record
straight regarding this particular situation. I've offered this lens to
the list members on multiple occasions at prices that are well below the
market price for a lens in similar condition. Several members have
commented that the price was more than fair. A few times, the lens was
"almost sold" (a little like almost pregnant, I think). This has gone
on for about 8 months now and it was at the suggestion of two or three
of the Olympus List members that I've finally decided to try my luck on
eBay.
I gather from your comment that I should not have notified the list
members that the lens was on the block at eBay. I'm really trying to
understand the logic in that - but to no avail! Don't you think that
some may want to know if such a nice (and relatively rare) lens is on
the block? I do.
Perhaps you think it's a waste of time and my post would be of no
interest to most of the members. Well, that's why I put "on eBay" in
the Subject Line of the post. That way, anyone who wasn't interested in
looking or who had a prejudice against eBay could pass by this
particular post and go on to whatever it is that really interests them.
I see words in your comments like "SPAM" and "abusive" and "hucksters"
and "burlesque" and I become quite puzzled. Perhaps you could rethink
your comments in light of what I have written above. If you can't, I'm
left even more puzzled.
