Ken,
When I am doing this, I usually am in manual mode and I just set the FStop
or shutter speed accordingly. You could use the compensation dial if you
were shooting in automatic. Don't forget to set it back to zero when you no
longer need it! It is easy to forget and I tend to miss the warning in the
viewfinder.
