Kris:
I use the same technique of MRC all the time. It works quite OK.
Just to be sure that , if you left the film at, for example, 8, continue at
10, because you can never be to sure about the exact place you started
rolling the film each one of the times.
If you are careful enough, you won't be needing any other gadget, because
you can feel when the film's leader gets loose. If you stop rewinding at
that moment, the film will be just ok to be reused.
