Also, this is the appropriate opportunity to mention that I've held a
500/f4 mirror lens.  It was a pure cannon !  Something 15 cm wide and 30
cm long, quite impressive.  Unfortunately, one or another b*st*rd had
ruined the focussing mechanism when he wanted to turn the marvel into a
flatfield telescope...
