I don't think the ES-10 should be called an 'Internet scanner'.
Internet imaging quality, which is monitor resolution based, ends
somewhere at 800x600 pixels. The ES-10 resolution goes beyond that, and
is well suited for Olympus' own photo printer, which is limited to
postcard format. Unfortunately this photo printer isn't exactly
state-of-the-art anymore, beaten as it is by the Epson Stylus Photo,
which is a very affordable A4 photo printer. And A4 is just too much
for the ES-10. What you get with a better scanner like the CoolScan and
the Stylus Photo is not only Internet imaging, but also a digital
darkroom. You don't need to be a pro earning bread and butter with OM
to want that...

BTW for those of you who still want the ES-10 (maybe only because the
name of their favourite imaging brand is printed on it...) - have a
peak at:
http://www.olympus.com/camera/photostudio/photostudio.html
and
http://www.olympus.com/camera/centurion/centurions.html.

They're planning to release a combination package called "Photo Studio"
that contains the ES-10 with APS module and an updated version of the
Centurion (named "S" for Silver. Yuck!). The latter finally supports
MRC (about just in time, given the fact that now some more serious APS
films are being released, including B&W). Now if only they could retain
the black color... Anyway, this package should be way cheaper than its
individual components, and it gives you yet another camera with THE
brand printed on it.
