America West is nicknamed "America's Worst". I think they have the
friendliest crew, second only to Southwest, but has screwed up my schedule
and lost my luggage almost every time I've flown them. Be thankful you
missed the KLM flight--you luggage probably wouldn't have made it.
Other US airlines I hate flying (in order): American (overbooks flights),
US-Air (crappy planes), United (cancelled flights).
US airlines I have generally had good luck with: Midwest Express (first
class), TWA (best maintenance), Northwest (reliable), Delta (friendly),
Southwest (cattlecar but effiecient and friendly).
Worse US international airports: JFK-New York, Dulles-Washington DC, Los
Angeles.
Best US international airports: Chicago, Minneapolis, Boston
Favorite US airports: Washington National (hmm. Ronald Reagan Airport);
Greensboro, South Carolina; Ontario Airport, Los Angeles.
Ken (zillions of miles a year) Norton
Quincy (small uncontrolled airport) Illinois.
