Bad thinking! Unlike the OM-10, the OM-1 has its meter cells in the
pentaprism, so the shutter curtains are jet black.

Bad, bad boy! Didn't they teach you in school not to look under a
Scotsman's kilt (or the girls' skirts) ?

The OM-10 body is decidedly a Scotsman's Olympus. The emphasis is,
first and foremost, on frugality (though clearly not at the expense
of functionality). There's nothing wrong with your camera. In fact,
half way up is actually better than nothing at all -- the way the
self-timer works on OM-2/2n.
