Sorry, I wanted to say auto mode rather than "averaging" mode.

I didn't say "bottom-weighted" but rather "center bottom-weighted."  It is
hard to define when you can't see the diagram (which is in the original OM-2S
review in Popular Photography - of which I don't have the date of
publication).  It basically means the strongest sensitivity is in the bottom
center of the viewfinder (when held horizontally) with progressively less
sensitivity towards the corners.  The upper corners and top of the frame have
no sensitivity and the bottom corners some.  Hold the camera in vertical and
the bottom center-weighted sensitivity is towards the baseplate - not exactly
an ideal situation.  But then too many photographers have been shown to have
horizontalitis (i.e., they rarely if even think to hold the camera vertical).
