[OM] 75-150 Zuiko zoom question

Olympus Shooters:

I posted a question a couple of days ago that elicited no response, which I
attribute to its appearance amongst the melee of messages about best buys
and yard sales (which I have to admit were far more interesting in a
top-yer-story kind of way). But I'm back, hoping my timing is better this time.

I picked up a Zuiko 75-150 zoom at a pawn shop several years ago. It was in
like-new condition by appearance and priced only slightly more than another
well-worn, otherwise identical lens. I noted that the focusing mechanics
were stiffer than the other. Since then I have come to the conclusion that
the focusing mechanics are a little too stiff. I can't complain about the
results from the lens, but it just focuses a little too stiff and haltingly
to be quite pleasant to use.

I have to confess I don't use this lens much, perhaps because of this.
Anybody else have similar experience with this lens? Does it loosen up?
Should I consider having it checked out, and if so, by whom?

Regards,

Joel
