Other than the OTF metering during exposure, light through the viewfinder
can get to nearly all normal SLR TTL meters. Without a one way mirror in the
viewfinder, light can go from the viewfinder to the mirror just as easily as
from the mirror to the viewfinder. It can then travel through the partial
mirror down into the meter. The mirror seals the viewfinder during OTF
exposure. I am surprised that the IS-3 doesn't have OTF flash metering, but
John H. says no. For its intended usage, it really isn't needed.
